The Editorial Modules

All text and graphics files are maintained within a database. EDITION applies your preferred copy flow through a series of self purging baskets related to deadline times for page production tracking purposes. The status of any advertisement on the page can be examined and the software allows more than one person to be working on a page at any time. Powerful basket sorting routines, copy audit trails, automated column balancing and overmatter control are provided. EDITION also has an electronic cuttings library with intelligent archive, search and retrieval capabilities.

The SCRIBE story management module is the natural choice for creative journalism. It combines powerful editorial functions with a unique Worksheet that provides an overview of all the stories in your basket together with their status and routing option buttons. At all times there is total integration with EDITION page management through the underlying database.

Attached to every story is a user configurable ticket that is constantly updated both automatically and manually to maintain a complete audit trail. Stories arriving in your basket list are colour coded according to priority and are accompanied by either visual or audible warnings. A single click on the story enables rapid copytasting and simply hitting the return key opens the story.

Once you have finished editing, a simple point and click function on the worksheet route bar will direct the story to its next destination. SCRIBE automatically, completes this job for you. At the same time it purges your own basket, creates a read only security copy and updates the story ticket history.
